The State of Delaware adopted standards, procedures and licensing for asbestos work under Chapter 78 Asbestos, Title 16 of the Delaware Code. Licensing, training and certification of individual asbestos professionals and their firm/companies are administered by the Delaware Department of Administrative Services and enforcement of these asbestos regulations is by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC).

Asbestos Project Monitors- These certified/licensed professionals with specific Delaware training must work for a professional service firm. Asbestos Project Monitors duties include project monitoring, air sampling, inspections, project management and final air clearance including the authority and responsibility to issue a Stop Work Order for any violations of the regulations.
