          AET's corporate staff includes 3 Board Certified Industrial Hygienist's (CIH's); each with over 20 years of environmental consulting experience.  Our president, Mr. Alan J. Sutherland, is both a CIH, Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM) and Certified Microbial Consultant (CMC).  Mr. Sutherland's initial training and experience was developed in the insurance industry where he worked for over 6 years for Firemen's Fund Insurance and Reliance Insurance.  At Firemen's Fund, Mr. Sutherland completed over 250 environmental health investigations while working in conjunction with the Loss Control Department and Claims Department.  At Reliance, Mr. Sutherland developed and managed a field staff of 3 CIH's who provided nationwide services.  Mr. Sutherland also started (staffed, equipped and provided QA/QC) an environmental health laboratory which culminated in full accreditation (asbestos, silica, metals, organics) by the American Industrial Hygiene Association while at Reliance.

          AET's personnel are professionally trained and licensed in the specific environmental fields which they perform.  AET's services are multi-disciplinary and are performed under direct supervision of a CIH.  AET's rigorous investigations, specification writing, sample collection procedures and result interpretation have withstood legal inquiry from opposing council and their environmental consultants.

          AET's CIH(s) have represented our clients on several occasions during negotiations with the client's insurance carriers during evaluation of a property loss.  Formal proof of loss documents have been prepared for litigation or arbitration when an agreed upon settlement could not be reached.  AET's CIH are also experienced in providing expert testimony and litigation support.
