FEDERAL REGULATIONS

OSHA's Lead in Construction Standard 29 CFR 1926.62 established maximum limits of workers expsoures to lead during construction work.  Buildings constructed before 1978 routeinely have lead coatings (paint or varnishes) applied to the exterior and interior building components.  Disturbance of these painted surfaces during renovation and demolition activities (especially sanding, burning, cutting, welding, grinding, etc.) can result in significant worker lead exposures.  AET's industrial hygiene staff routinely perform exposure assessment monitoring and oversee the implementation of engineering controls, safe work practices and worker protection in compliance with this Standard.

EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule aims to protect lead poisoning in children by requiring specific safety measures for renovation projects that disturb lead-based paint (LBP) in homes, child-care facilities, and schools built prior to 1978.  This federal law requires contractors to be certified and workers trained in lead-safe work practices. AET is certified by the EPA as a training provider. Licensing of lead professionals is performed on a state-by-state basis.

EPA's Lead Disclosure Rule requires property owners of homes to disclose all known LBP and LBP hazards in housing to buyers and renters.

AET'S lead qualified personnel maintain the following professional certifications in regards to our lead services:
